Using NOS MULLARD EL32 as the amplification, and 6L6G as the output driver makes this state-of-the-art pre-amplifier sublimely attractive. This is the No transformer version of QA-116 but still has the same legendary richness and finesse in the sound quality.

With this pre-amplifier,the background is so quiet that it makes you easily aware of microdetails like the background noise of the recording studio. The 6lG6G output buffer section provides very exceptional driving capability to eliminate any absorption of information from the cable and power amp input. By changing the set of output drivers with tubes like EL34, 6G6G, 6Y6G...etc, you can then change the tonal quality and weight of the signal. This unit is handbuilt with a 5U4G tube rectifier and enhanced power supply which gives you the best price-performance in this type of pre-amplifier.

A stand-by switch is also featured in this model, which lets the unit stay turned-on all the time (24hrs/day) in stand-by mode. With just a switch back to normal mode when in operation, the warm-up time of the unit will be shortened from 15min to less than 1min.

A Diode-Enable switch for the rectifier section is also featured in this unit to have tighter bass control and punch when listening to music which requires faster dynamics and pace. This is a 3-way mode selection switch, you can select between tube rectifier only or tube + diode rectifier or diode rectifier only .

The 5U4G tube rectifier can further upgrade by our super rectifier STR-104 or higher models , direct plug and play without any mod required.

With this super rectifier adaptor, you can use 300B, 2A3 , 45 , 50 , 80, 83, 1616 , 3B28 or 866A as rectifier tubes option.
